Prayers, Examination of Conscience, etc. for reconciliation service at home in the face of COVID-19

During Lent, there are certain days on which we are called to observe fasting and abstinence.

Christina Capecchi of The Catholic Spirit interviewed our former pastor, Fr. Bill Martin, about how his encroaching blindness has shaped his relationship with God and prayer.

This extended period of isolation brought about by the ongoing pandemic has taken a toll on all of our mental and spiritual health. Take some time to explore these issues with psychologist, Fr. Matthew Malek, in this video presentation shared with us by our friends from St. Joseph in New Hope.

The ancient office of Compline derives its name form a Latin word meaning 'completion' (completorium). It is above all a service of quietness and reflection before rest at the end of the day. It is most effective when the ending is indeed an ending, without additions, conversation or noise. If there is an address, or business to be done, it should come first. If the service is in church, those present depart in silence; if at home they go quietly to bed.
