We have a Community News section in our bulletin highlighting everything from retreats and education events, to local dinners and volunteer opportunities.

There are an estimated 300,000 Latino Catholics in this Archdiocese and Latino Ministry is actively serving in 23 parishes. Estela Villagrán Manancero, Archdiocesan Director of Latino Ministry, writes: “In the Latino community, family is a very strong value that we bring from our countries and when we find ourselves in this new country with a new language and all these new things to learn, the parish really is our home and it’s our extended family. When we celebrate Latino Family Day, it is something that attracts all the families because it’s like having Christmas—everybody comes and it’s like a big party for the extended family.”
To-date, more than $1.2 million in pledges and gifts has been raised to accomplish our goals through the Capital Campaign. As you may recall, pledges made to the campaign are collected over a three-year pledge period. During these three years, situations arise, such as death, illness, or moving out of town.
The Archdiocesan Office for the Deaf joined Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Minneapolis in 1986. The Office of the Deaf is one of the 17 Collective Ministries that is funded by the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation (CSAF).
Edith Couillard has passed to Eternal Life with the Resurrected Christ. Mass of Christian Burial will be held here at the church on Tuesday, January 24, at 11:00am.
By participating in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and other ecumenical activities, Christians move toward the fulfillment of Jesus' prayer at the Last Supper "that they all may be one." This year is especially significant, as we are marking the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.
For the next 16 weeks, the Catholic Services Appeal Foundation will be providing a “Did You Know?” bulletin snippet and testimonial, each week focusing on one individual ministry that the CSAF supports, as well as testimonials from people who benefit from those ministries. Our hope with these is to bring more awareness to the incredible works of the 17 Collective Ministries.
