During supper 2017 summer, volunteers from St. Richard, working alongside members of four other churches, helped construct a home at 2313 James Avenue North in Minneapolis. Over a two-week period in July, as part of a group called Nokomis Builds, we worked on a new type of Habitat Home.
The construction involved some new designs and processes based on a collaboration between Habitat for Humanity, the University of Minnesota and the Department of Energy. The hope is to provide more economical and environmentally friendly houses. Thanks to everyone who volunteered their time on this summer’s project! We want to additionally thank all those who support this effort by your contributions, purchases of coffee, tea and chocolate, and participation in the August 20 pancake breakfast!
