Party With St. Nick/Fiesta con San Nicolás

Our parishes' annual Party with St. Nick will be 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at St. Peter. Admission is free and tickets are not required./La fiesta anual de nuestras parroquias con San Nicolás será de 1:30 a 3:30 p.m. Domingo 8 de diciembre en St. Peter. Advent Family Faith Formation event Nov. 24

Our parishes will host a Family Faith Formation event, 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, in the social hall at St. Richard. The event is open to all families with children in Pre K through eighth grade.

All Saints/All Souls

All Saints Day is Nov. 1. It is a holy day of obligation that honors the lives of all saints and martyrs. The Feast of All Souls is Nov. 2. It is a day to honor all deceased loved ones and to pray for all souls in purgatory.

Calling for small groups and leaders

Advent is approaching fast and we would again like to offer everyone in our parishes the opportunity to participate in a Parish Evangelization Cell System (PECS). Several groups and leaders have continued to meet since Lent earlier this year, sharing our faith with each other and offering the opportunity to discuss what God is doing for you and what you are doing for God!

RCCW 2024 Christmas Bazaar

The Richfield Council of Catholic Women’s annual Christmas Bazaar is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday Nov. 2 in the activities building at Assumption.

Blessing of the Animals Friday, Oct. 4

In honor of the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, we will be holding an outdoor Blessing of the Animals at both St. Richard and St. Peter on Friday, Oct. 4.

Eucharistic Revival videos

We are showing videos from the main speakers of Eucharistic Revival, Tuesdays at St. Richard through Aug. 27.

Book Club

The Parish Book club will meet 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18 to discuss Words for Our Time, by Matthew the Poor.

National Eucharistic Congress

The 10th National Eucharistic Congress starts Wednesday, July 17.

VBS registration

Registration is now open for VBS 2024: A Radical Ride on the Wings of Prayer! Open to all children ages 3 (and potty-trained) through 11, St. Richard’s Catholic Church, Monday, August 5—Friday, August 9, 8:50 a.m.-noon

Faith Formation registration now open

Registration for faith formation classes in English is now available online. Paper registration forms for both English and Spanish are available in the back of church.

Parish council nominees

Three years ago, our combined parish council was formed from leaders among our three parishes. They have done amazing work in helping shape our mission, vision and values, and are in the process of setting up our commissions to help give everyone in the parish a chance for more active leadership in accomplishing that mission. But we need your help! We originally had three members from each parish on the council, plus a chairperson. We are down two members, and so need a member of St. Peter and a member of Assumption to fill those roles.

Deacon Frankie ordination

Deacon Frankie Floeder will be ordained a priest, along with 12 other deacons, 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25 at the Cathedral of St. Paul.

Spaghetti dinner & Bingo

Come for an evening of food, fun and community on Saturday, April 13. You’ll enjoy a spaghetti dinner and bingo at St. Richard. Dinner will be from 5-7 p.m. Bingo will start right after dinner.

Scout Sunday is Feb. 4

The first Sunday in February is Scout Sunday. Scout Sunday was established to bring greater awareness to Scouting and to allow Scouts to live out their “Duty to God,” which is pledged at every Scout meeting.
